Anyone every see or find a badge like this? Its copper, made with 2 pieces so at 1 time it was 3 dimensional, you can see in the side view picture. There is a name Russ House, and the # 24, the Miss on the bottom is for Missouls MT, I assume that because I found it here in east Missoula. Also I found it along the Lewis and Clark trail, I've heard that the Wells Fargo stage ran close to where I was hunting, Did the coach drivers have badges? Any info would be great thnx!

From a Missoula residential land use history document I found on line:

The Russ House (circa 1880), located where the Orange Street Motor Inn parking lot now lies, housed up to

one hundred forty (140) people in its heyday, as well as a cobbler, saloon, barber, and restaurant

Maybe a door number?

Very Nice DCMatt! I'll have to follow up on your info, I had been looking for a person named Russ House, now it's making more sense. Sure was a nice touch as far as door#'s go!

Nice find. It's a room key tag. I know it seems big, but I found one from a town in Mi. and it was big too, also from the 1880's.
