Shell game coin token

I just stepped out the back door and turned my detector on. I got a signal immediately. It was a pretty neat old Shell token. It says "Famous Americans Coin Game" on the front and "Andrew Jackson Frontiersman 1767 - 1845" on the back. It's kinda funny because I had my detector on less than a minute. I'm not sure how old it is?

There was another one of these posted not even 5 days ago (different back). Sorry I can't post the link on my phone (or at least haven't figured out how) but do a quick search for Shell and you'll find it. They talk a little about age in that.

That medallion brings back great memories: The original Shell Presidential token game was in 1968 and 1969. In that series, Pres. Jackson faced left, not right as in your token. No purchase was necessary.Each day you could walk into the Shell station and simply ask for a token. The tokens were wrapped in a small packet so that you could not see which presidential token you were receiving. "Instant Winners" (up to $5,000, I believe--enough to buy a car at that time) were also part of the deal--as were collecting certain groups of tokens that would give you an "Instant Winner" cash prize. Personally, I would also approach an attendant and buy a handful of the tokens for $5; getting just one a day or one per visit to the gas station was too slow for me.

I guess my parents didn't buy Shell gasoline because I don't remember those. Then again I was only 5/6 during the promotion. Really neato find!
