It's likely a .56-60 rimfire, an accurate measurement of the inside in 100ths of an inch will tell us for certain what it is.

Nola_Ken has got it. It is a Spencer Cartridge case, although we can't say which of 4 calibers in that shape. It WAS fired in a Spencer as their firing pin is distinctive.
