This pattern was made by many companies. Each having it's own slight variation to the pattern. Yours is just one. C.J. Vander bought out several other companies while in business. With those acquisitions he also acquired the dies from those companies. I believe most of his stuff is sterling but he did produce plated goods as well. Yours seems to be a hard to find set as C J VANDER LTD*CJV8 (SILVERPLATE) at Replacements, Ltd only shows examples of a couple pieces. I wouldn't sell that set for any less than $300, but I would start the bidding at that, do not list it as a BIN, because you don't really have any sales history for your particular set, so it may sell for more. At least try listing it that way at first, if you don't get any bites after a few weeks then try a BIN. A similar set by a different maker sold for as much- Sheffield 95 Piece Lewis Rose Kings Pattern Silverplate Flatware Set | eBay without the case. Hope this helps.

Those aren't gilded are they? Kind of looks like worn gold gilt in the photo now that I look at it again. If that is gilt that is mostly worn off, then I don't know what to say about the price except, list it for what you paid and let it run.
