My goodness did you have a good weekend! I think the total value off your finds this weekend are worth more then my retirement fund! Lol. What a great area you have!

That looks REALLY good... go get it checked out. Nothing better than scooping up real treasure while the greedy masses swarm the $12/oz flatware.

I search most of PA. Plus, I have the added benefit of business travel. I try to search local thrift stores when I'm out and about for that as well. Chicago in October, maybe San Francisco in August, and likely San Antonio in August as well.

It was a rummage sale. The one lady stood front and center with her high end eye loop around her neck...too funny!

I'm off to the beach to do some metal detecting and night fishing. If my luck continues, maybe I'll find a sunken treasure and I CAN retire. I highly doubt it, but a girl can dream, right?

I don't think the back is going to tell you more then the hallmarks on the case. Is there any marks telling you gold content or proof marks?

Since you end up buying lots of fine jewelery/watches, I would recommend a nice set of screwdrivers to keep handy for items like this. I picked up a master set of Bergeon screwdrivers at a sale for 5 bucks a few years ago and don't use anything else. You might have to spend a few bucks more to get a used set on ebay, they are worth every penny.

That's what I thought as well. I need to take the back off, but I don't have a small enough screw driver (yet)!

Be careful not to scratch it . I would use a watch knife or have a jeweler open it.

Thanks for the recommendation on the tools. I'll have to look into it.

The watch doesn't appear to be marked anywhere. I know sometimes (or at least vintage watches) they are marked inside.

Def don't want to scratch it. My husband had his mitts on it earlier, I told him "no way man" I'll take it to jeweler's row tomorrow to check about a battery.

seeing the movement will let you be 100% sure if this is a real high end swiss watch. It does look like you need a battery. The second hand hasn't moved in your two shots of the dial. I'd take it to a jeweler. If he losses a screw he'll have another. You lose a screw you'll need to look for a new one. That kind of back is easy to do, just don't lose any of the screws. You should be able to find that tiny screwdriver set at Walmart or a auto parts store. If at Walgreen look in the eyeglass section for a small repair kit with a screw driver. Great find.:award_star_gold_3:

Outstanding find! I hope it proves to be genuine and sells for a ton!

I'm no watch expert but I did a little investigative work, lol. If the case is gold it will be marked on the inside of the back of the case on this particular watch. They did make a stainless steel model too. They also make replicas. I don't know if they made this particular one but it's something to consider with designer watches. Here is an example of the reverse of a back plate on an 18k model -

Thanks for the info. Either way, I need a battery, so I'll let the watch guy surprise me. ;)

BTW, you see Hublot on all those time signs they hold up at the World Cup.
