I detected a rock pile facing a creek, when I dug this. At first I thought it was a pin for a gate, then I thought it might be a fork but it lacked signs of a shank. Strangely enough I think someone sharpened the ends of it. It’s hard to see, but the edges could almost cut and the tips are very sharp. I think it might be some odd tool, or it could have just corroded oddly. Thoughts? Thanks for reading! 72F046B6-D0F9-468C-AA5D-F023EA090C5D.jpeg86F390F6-34A0-4361-89AC-D34815D136D9.jpeg7E126640-8CA3-440C-A938-03FEAD7666ED.jpeg

Looks like an old nail staple for attaching barbed wire or fencing material to wooden posts. Rusting effects has made it appear that the ends were sharpened....

You guys are right about the fence staple! Lot's of barbed wire in that area, so it makes sense. Thanks for identifying!!

John Dee, I think staple as well!

I also found mojjax's comment interesting because when I first saw it I visualized the large
safety pins used to keep track of socks in a commercial laundry.

Best wishes!
