Oh yea, forgot the scoop, the batteries, the pin pointer, the digger, the bug spray at some time or another. Any one of those makes for a tough or impossible outing lol. If its not that theres someone there detecting already or park rangers or cold footed permissions telling you you can't detect. I am not sure what keeps us going. Probably just stubborn.

I went fishing last year with my kayak. 6 hour drive to the mountains. Got up the next morning, took the kayak off of the roof to launch and realized i forgot the PADDLE!
Still in the garage back home. I now make a detailed list of things to pack and check them off as I go.

been there done that - 2 hrs from home and realize i left my machine
(now I make sure I have at least 2)
nother time
had my Gf drop me off and forgot my long handle scoop - no way to call her back
she'd be back in 2 hrs - had mask and thought "okay..will just have to drop and fan"
zero viz - try dropping and feeling around and that way a no go - ended up doing
dry sand - which i do not like - im a water hunter - if i hit land - its farm fields for colonial stuff
i did get some silver jewelry in the dry - so i couldnt yell at her :tongue3:
we do check list now so that wont happen again
boots, gloves, mask, pouch, machine, scoop

Yeah, reminds me the family beach vacation where I remembered everything but the scoop...
Kellyco bailed me out by shipping one direct the the hotel. Not sure if they could ship to a campsite, might need Amazon Prime for that!

SD cards, flash drives,....now I have them stashed everywhere! lol

Hiked about 2 miles into the woods my digger wasn't in my bag. My brain wasn't in my head lol

Twice took a 3.5 hour drive to the beach only to find I forgot my scoop. Drank beer instead and the wife laughed at me. Oh well!
