Hello All,

Went out for a hunt and I didn't find much myself but a crusty V nickel and some GawGag. Shang got STOOD UP though! Here's the video:

We had a bit of a slow summer due to out of town work and a surgery/recovery, but we're back on track. Gonna still try for our annual silver total to be in the low to mid 40s. This is the 20th silver for the year, but we're at 97 Seated and 88 Spanish in 6 years so we *should* break 100 Seated sometime this fall. 100th Spanish will likely have to come next year--probably next fall if I had to guess.

Cheers,

Buck

Nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Nice work on all the seated and Spanish. Just wondering how many seated are quarters and halves and how many Spanish larger than a 1 real

Thanks for the post buddy! Always so exciting to dig a first!

Here's the breakdown:

89 Spanish:
8 Reales: 2
Cut Quarters of 8 Reales: 3
2R: 5
1R: 8
HR: 71

98 Seated:
Halves: 2
Quarters: 4
Dimes: 26
Half Dimes: 66

We should probably add in two 1840s silver Quarter Franc silvers (half dime sized)

Also, if you're interested:

2 Capped Dimes
6 Capped Half Dimes

195 silver out of 257 total silvers have been Spanish, Capped or Seated. The rest were mainly Barber, but we did get two Walker Halves, one Franklin, 5-7 Standing Liberty Quarters, 8 or 9 Washingtons, and 6 Philippine Occupation silver coins :D I think we have had maybe 3-4 Mercs too, and a disproportionately large number of silver war nickels (I'd estimate 20 of them, believe it or not! No clue why we find so many of those!)
