Greetings all, well it is yellow jacket august, but what a nice cold front yesterday here in New York.Could not resist a walk,so called in sick and headed for the Shagbark.Against the larger foundation came out a great warrented flask with a small non-machined neck, great green color, this got me going so dug around for about a half hour. The place is weird,in that there is on one side of the road a small foundation, maybe 10x10,with a very small running trickle.much built up stone work,on the other side is a foundation that could be thirty feet long and 20 wide, but not animal barn,to much stone, mill or church.ajacent to this another very small foundation, and finally a house foundation. A huge amount of work went into this place. no wood left or any rotting timbers, can not say how far back but was inhabited at least untill 1892,but most likelly built in early 1700's. Everytime I think I have this place cleaned out, another find. The five cent 18?? was between the foundations about five inches down. Anyone want to suggest a way to clean if I am NOT gonna selll it? It is not worth that much, but to me alot, you know? Now this bell, about the size of a tennis ball, very heavy brass, initial"B"on it. It was in a run off on top of the ground, looks really old,and neat size, small crack but interesting.l info on it?I will be holding off the Shagbark for a week(so I say) and will poke around the back yard some.
