Several Of These Found In The Same Hole w/Piece of Tile

Hi all, Found several of these in the same hole, looks like there's 2 parts to it held by a nail or something similar. Also found a small complete piece of tile in the hole with it, perhaps from a bathroom. The piece shown is 1-1/2" x 1". Thanks, Nat

It sorta looks like a small brake pad. Could that be asbestos? Gary

I don't think it is a brake pad with that little knob on it. It would rub on the wheel.

never seen a brake pad with that thin of a backing plate. too flimsy for the job
