Sequenced serial #'s on two $2 bills

So, I'm at my parents house using their internet to post my finds, and my mother plops down two $2 bills in frount of me and asks me if they are worth more than two bucks. I'm looking at them, and notice that they are in sequence...I 25888681 A, and I 25888682 A. I thought that was pretty crazy! Not my find, but I thought it was cool, so I'm posting them. 2013-06-06 09.33.02.jpg

To answer your mother's question: They are worth exactly $2 a piece. The sequencing is from stacks being delivered to banks, stores, etc.

To answer your mother's question, they are worth more than two bucks. The two notes are worth $4.00.

Anyhow, it's not all that uncommon to get sequential notes, especially from banks and large retailers. When Brinks or whoever delivers money, they get the money in bricks from the Fed, and the notes, assuming they are freshly printed, are always in sequential order.

Now if you get some old notes or silver certificates that are sequential, there may be some added value in that.

Your bills appear to be from the Series of 2003 (Minneapolis issued). That was a printing of nearly 122 million bills. You might get an extra dollar of so for them (retail might be $5), but if I owned them (here in California), I'd add a few cents and buy a gallon of gas.
