Got out today with a friend of mine and fellow Tnetter Jeff aka UMRGolf2000. It was a chilly and windy day here in Virginia but managed a few saves including a couple of buttons. I dug a Hampton Normal Institute and Eagle button along with an 1893 Worlds Colombian Exposition key fob. Also a period brass wedding band, 1 bullet, couple flat buttons, 1 Injun, kepi buckle, etc. Jeff dug a few cool things including the Norfolk and Western button and rivets to the left of the photo. It was a tough day with but we walked out with some keepers
On another note, I have been hitting it hard...sorry to my friends on here that I haven't really posted much the past couple of months but Spring is upon us so you'll start seeing alot more posting from me. Hope y'all like the pics :icon_thumleft:

Re: Me and UMRGolf2000 dig some Civil War relics

Not a bad day. I dig quite a few of those little brass clasp looking things with the iron on them. I think they might have gone on the back of a dress or something as they were in a row and attached to an iron strip. I found about 10 of them on one strip once and several other times found 3 or 4 together. anybody know exactly what they are? :dontknow:

I've found many of them throughout several colonial and civil war sites that i've been to over the years. I believe they went to some sort of accoutrement that the soldiers and civilians used as they are obviously all over relic sites...
