Mine takes a fit now and then haven't sent it back but has been on my mind too. Work has kept me from doing any mding but soon as I send it in I'm sure I'll get time to go and be missing my pointer. Hope you get it back soon and it good to go. HH.

Garrett, from my experience, has wonderful customer service.......it hsould not be gone too long.

Before you send it back for this problem, try the foam in the battery cap trick.

I started having the same problem. I read here about putting foam rubber in the battery cap to help hold the battery. I cut some foam to fit in the cap until it was two thirds full. The foam I used was kind of thin, so I used two layers.

So far it has worked.

Try this foam trick before sending the pointer to Garrett, you are out nothing if it works.

I can’t dream of going on a hunt without a Pro Pointer, so I ordered a back up one.

I had trouble with mine not switching on until I realised it was the cheap budget batteries I was buying from the supermarket. I bought some good quality rechargables and it works fine now.

Sent mine back last winter and it took about one month. They sent me a new one and this one has held up better than the first one. Good luck. When I started detecting they didn't have pin pointers. Hate to think about how many coins that I didn't get, because I couldn't locate them.

sheesh, they told me 10 business days max, I hope its not like yours!

If it is fixable, yeah take advantage of any warranty or customer service that you can.. While you can... Then when that runs out you can Jerry Rig it any way you want...

Keep @ it and HH !!

sheesh, they told me 10 business days max, I hope its not like yours!

Cjon, you may as well face it....your hunting is over for the year. You don't want some New Yorker or New Jerseyite coming across and taking the plunder from those good sites of yours. Go ahead and tell me where they are so at least the goods stay in Pennsylvania!

I need to send my back. Same reason as yours. I have no idea why but it goes off continuously even without metal.

They told me 10 days as well, a new one was here in 7. Garrett has been VERY good with any service issues for me. Good luck.

Had mine back in 6 days. Switch went bad, my fault, not theirs, no charge, they are awesome!!!

Just got mine back last week. Sent it in the week before so it was less than a week.
They sent me a brand new one, they just put my old battery cap on the new one- it has the serial #.
I had it for over a year and a half and started doing the same thing- beep in the air, had to tap it to stop.

lol OVER? I think not, id start twitching or something. and as far as my spots are concerned, I don't have that many good spots, I definitely need to do some door knocking in some new areas. Apparently the areas that ive been trying have been previously hit by this old timer that I went on a few hunts with. Probly not ALL of my spots but I got to talking about some spots ive been to and he was like Yep, I know that house, then proceded to tell me the homeowners names and got to bragging about his finds from my spots lol

I sent mine back and had a new one in 5 days. Awesome service but there is a problem they need to fix. My new one has to be turned on two or three times before it stays on. I love the pinpointer but it's getting ridicules having to do this so much.

I sent mine, it was less then 10 days and I got it back, I have two of them so I didn't miss a trick. Mine was losing its range, I wouldn't have known if I didn't have the second one to compare.

My PP was starting to act up, too. I knew it was just a matter of time before I would have to send it in. I can't do without one so I ordered a new one as backup--it's that important to me. Sure enough, as soon as the new one came in, the old one went out. Sent it to Garrett's and now basically I have two new PPs , and piece of mind.
