I just came back from a coin show and no one seemed interested in the coin, they just wanted to drop it on the glass to see it is sounded like silver. I took it to one place the other day and he didn't know why there was a hole in it.
I emailed Dr. Dr.
Philip Mossman who has authored things on these and he confirmed what others on the forum stated as this being a NOE-9.

I decided to send this out myself to have it graded and so it will be protected in a nice case.

After looking at the different grading services and theirs cost I am thinking of sending it to ANACS. It seem to offer the best for what I need.

Its possible a lot of the collectors at the show have never held one out of a slab in their hands. You can post pics to get feedback here, but to know for sure you'd have to send it in.

ANACS was the place to send them 30 years ago.

Today they are not well respected by collectors. PCGS is now the top dog and most respected.

Yes, definitely PCGS or NGC as a second choice. I remember seeing the first thread and was very amazed! That is one awesome coin you have!

Go with PCGS as being best in class....at least you'll get a ruling as to it being legit on the downside they will mention that it's been cleaned and subject to environmental damage.

Another thing if you choose to sell deal with a high end coin auction house for your Mass silver coin even if it's not the best condition at least the potential buyers are knowledgeable about the rarity/value of these coins and you should end up with a fair price.

I always use PCGS & NGC. In this case though with a hole in the coin, these 2 companies may send your coin back to you in a "body bag", & not certify it.

As Trezurehunter stated, due to the hole, PCGS and NGC may return the coin in a "body bag". You might want to check with ICG to see if they body bag damaged coins and if they do not, it would be best to send it to them before ANACS. ANACS would be the default choice if ICG does body bag damaged coins.
