Went back out to the fort site this afternoon for a few hours. I didn't find to much for the first hour or so, just some trash and a few buckshot. But then found a U.S. cuff button in real nice shape. First button off this site. Also found a most of a brass spur. And the last hole of the day turned up a musket ball. So all and all not a bad afternoon.

Probably not that old but also found this button that's a copy of a Maria Theresa taler.

Good luck everyone thanks for looking.

I'm sure the photos are lovely. ;D

I'd like to see the spur, that would be so exciting to find. Congrats on the finds.

those are great pics and those buttons are in really really good condition, I would love to hunt a place like that.

I was surprised myself how well the button had held up. This fort was only around less than a year so I know it was lost in 1839. It was in some very clean white sand and I guess that's what preserved it so well.
