thanks DH,i should be getting my semichrome today in the mail so i'll let you know

got the semichrome in yesterday,WOW,what a job it did,if i could figure out how to put pictures up i'd show ya ,you still have to soak them 4 a few days to get the crud off,and then rub the semi on,but it makes them shine(still not sure if thats a good thing or not, seems like most people split on whether to clean or not) GOOD LUCK DH

goog luck and great diggin!

I've been reading on this Semichrome and it's pretty cool stuff.

I spent all day trying to find it locally but finally ended up ordering it off ebay. Paid $21 total for 3 tubes. I've got a lot of stuff that needs a good shine ;D

Yes, it was a good deal. This person has lots of this stuff on ebay. I'll see how fresh it is when it gets here Friday or Saturday.

Semichrome has a shelf life of 5 years so it should be fine.

I have everything from silver to pre-historic Mammoth ivory to polish.

Used to use it when I was in Military School. We used it to clean all our brass buttons, belt buckles, insignias, monograms... and so on. Worked really well. I would imagine it would work on coins also but don't know if you want to use it on anything old or precious. It will take off the patina which to a collector is desired. It contains a fine abrasive (possibly rouge) which will alter the surface of a coin. If you are looking to only clean up some clad than It should work good. I haven't seen it in years though. Last I saw it was at an auto parts place. From my experience using Simichrome, it seems to be the exact same thing as Maas which I find more readilly. Smells the same, looks the same works the same. I have a tube of that. I think it is the same stuff, different packaging. I think it might be something imported from Germany and sold under different names.
