@ almost 30.00 an ounce.. Is it time to sell..I have about 5 pounds, Prob 2 of it are junk silver coins'pitted' and such.. Would you sell now, And what would you expect to get for a pound of silver coins..?

Thanks.. Rick

Unless you have some oldie collector's value coins, I thinking you would get something less than melt value. Do you have any precious metal dealers in your area? I'm sure there are buyer's on the net that would give you a good idea of what you could get.

I'm keeping all the good stuff, key dates. And or mintmarks.. I have a local coin shop I deal with 1-2 times a year to sell my gold off.. I'm gonna hang onto my gold this year, I was wondering what a decent price would be from a coinshop 4 melt value on silver..

A coinshop may take 10% off melt to compensate the smelter then another 5-10% to compensate himself; that will leave you with 81-86% of melt (for pure silver). But your coins are probably 90% silver so another 10% off to account for the 10% (worthless) alloy.

Shop around Local.

I'm confident if it were my area,
I Could sell it for very close if not
right on Spot price.

it is possable you can do the same.

Just do yourself a favor & Don't sell
by mail unless it's to somone who
is paying Spot.
Don't trust mail order Buisnesses
They will pay you $5.00 a pound.

at over $468.00 a pound right now
anything under $450 would be robbery.

Even if you have to drive a little ways to find a good "Hedge" broker it would benefit you in the long run.
They will give the best rate at the time and are usually up to the minute on prices.
The good ones check the market on the half hour. they work with all the metals, not just silver. just in case you may be interested in converting the silver to gold.
