It doesn't look like anything, really, but it's clearly something... So, help?
Found in a park that's been in use since around 1840.

Here's what I've come up with:
- It looks some kind of mold to me, but I can't tell what it would be used to mold, exactly.
- Seems like it's made of lead to me due to weight and lack of corrosion.
- On the back it looks like something was scratched in, maybe the initials AF?
- Thickness is 1/8", pretty much dead on.

I can easily add more photos if there's any detail you guys would like to see more closely...

The first thought that came to mind was an ox shoe, but that's obviously not what it is. :laughing7:

It looks to be lead filled with a sheet of either brass or copper on the face, but what was it made for? :icon_scratch:
With all of those straight and rounded sides it doesn't look like it's been broken off of anything.

Hopefully someone here with more experience then I will recognize what it is.

I don't think it's a mold.
Maybe it is just metal (or solder?) that's spilled and you're just seeing the impression of whatever it landed on?
Sort of like a Bigfoot foot impression.

Very strange.

Its a prehistoric caveman's sack of goodies that he accidently dropped into a swamp...

which then dried up and over time has become "petrified".

You can tell by the "buckskin condoms".

Could have been though a house fire. A barn burned down on my dad property and we still find interesting chunks of metal from where it pooled. We've found a few "fossilized" tools.

I’m going with melted spooge, but it does resemble an ox shoe sorta
