Looks like a pommel to me, off of what is the mystery. It could have even been a cane topper.

Boy that really looks like a terrific, old find. Looks hundreds of years old to me but couldnt tell you what its off of; gun, knife, sword...

Great find! Late 18th C small sword pommel.

The small sword was a fashionable weapon for the aristocracy in the last 1/4 of the 1700's.
