Looks like a Rupee from one of the many Native States of India .

I have to check my collection, years ago I found one similar and after checking world coin books I determined mine was a EAST INDIA CO. 1 PICE, DATED 1817.

Maybe if you google that you might see a similar photo of one, if I locate mine I will add the photograph of it.

Mine was found back in 1998 on an old stage road in the middle of nowhere and other coins found in the area were US Large Cents and Indian Head Pennies.

I'm leaning towards a coin from the Mughals (1526-1857) India, Pakistan and Bangladesh area. The silver coins were rupees (US quarter size); copper "fals" or "paisas" were cent to quarter size and very thick.
