"seekers yen" to Chamber Room?

me thinks you've been reading one-too-many embellished superstition lore stories. Oh sure, every last one of them is iron-clad true, right? If you really want to have fun reading more, just pick up any treasure mag. from the 1960s and '70s. They were filled with "lost mine" and "missing stage coach loot" type stories. A buddy of mine even submitted one of them, to get the $100 payment or whatever they award authors for stories contributed. Entirely made up, but it made for great reading. Wonder how many are still searching for it to this day ? :laughing7:

I put very little stock in treasure legends, as you can tell, ha ! :tongue3:

Guess I haven't been reading those stories, I have no clue what a seeker's yen is!

If you want to look for caches, your best off doing your own conjuring up of the facts and go from there. Majority of stories in books are either made up or gone over by a lot of others, and a few of the ones that actually existed quietly found and retrieved, and never written about.

You need to come up with your own leads that actually existed and you've got a real chance of finding. There are several good books telling you how to go about it. :2barsgold: :coins: :treasurechest:

*shrugs* A seekers yen (seekers desire) in treasure stories can be catching. I would consider it an empathy with the original seeker by one who would like to find what the original seeker could not find. Is there any truth to the story the original seekers thoughts? Well there could be if there are any historical facts that back the original claim up.
I feel maybe a good example would be the successful hunts for sunk treasure galleons off the Florida coast or even the most recent recoveries from the boat off the Carolinas.
False stories like the Lost Dutchman mine or the many claims of buried Confederate treasure. Well that will be upto the new "seeker" and their yen to uncover any truths.

A thought.....

Oh, the fever!
