Hello all,
My partner and I went to an old 4H camp yesterday to do a little detecting. The Camp was started in 1949 and is still used today. We dug coins until we couldn't dig anymore. It was like Christmas but the presents are just harder to open. The oldest coin of the day was a 195? or was it 194? wheat penny. Yep just one wheat. Most of the clad was at four inches and was from 1966 to the mid 1980's. Some of the stuff found on top was 1990ish to 2000ish. We found a lot of coins in the same hole. I got 11 coins out of one hole, then 6, then 9 then, 3quarters all stuck together. They rang up as 50 cents on the ACE 250 not 75.....lol The deepest coin came from about 6 to 8 inches deep. Makes you wonder how they just sink in the dirt like that. It was a 196? something quarter. All in All we had something like 45 Q, 30 D, 15 N, and the rest pennies. I think we turned over about 15 to 18 bucks in clad all together...........Thanks for looking
