Hello all,
My partner and I went to an old 4H camp yesterday to do a little detecting. The Camp was started in 1949 and is still used today. We dug coins until we couldn't dig anymore. It was like Christmas but the presents are just harder to open. The oldest coin of the day was a 195? or was it 194? wheat penny. Yep just one wheat. Most of the clad was at four inches and was from 1966 to the mid 1980's. Some of the stuff found on top was 1990ish to 2000ish. We found a lot of coins in the same hole. I got 11 coins out of one hole, then 6, then 9 then, 3quarters all stuck together. They rang up as 50 cents on the ACE 250 not 75.....lol The deepest coin came from about 6 to 8 inches deep. Makes you wonder how they just sink in the dirt like that. It was a 196? something quarter. All in All we had something like 45 Q, 30 D, 15 N, and the rest pennies. I think we turned over about 15 to 18 bucks in clad all together...........Thanks for looking

Kermit

Nice finds Kermit.

I recently came across some info of an old Boy Scout camp in the area. Gonna try and get permission to hunt it. Maybe I'll do as good as you.

awesome to find that type of positive hits. Better than digging trash which I'm always digging.

Thats a alot of digging ! Nice going.

Very nice haul, WTG!!!
Thanks for mentioning the 4H camp, I have been looking for more old sites, and new there was something I was missing, just couldn't put my finger on it. That was it, there should be quite a few 4H camps around here somewhere...
Good luck & Happy hunting~

RIBBIT...... ;D

Yippie, you bet that was alot of digging, me and Kermit could have dug another 200 coins, but we just couldn't hardly stand up. I would assume that that's probably the best coin hunting day any 2 guys could expect. Kermit was digging multi coin holes like crazy all day. One hole 11 coins!!! The best I did was 6 coins out of one hole!!!
I would have never met this guy had it not been for treasurenet, and what the funny thing is, Kermit lives about 1/4 mile from me!!! Now what's the odds of that?

Diggin' and Grinnin'................Rabbitsurprise

p.s. There hasn't been a better team since Kermit hooked up with Miss. Piggy!
