Sedwick Auction...

I posted this a couple of weeks ago, but certainly worth mentioning again. I check every day waiting for the on-line catalog to be posted. Note: I highly recommend purchasing the auction catalog. They become almost instant collector items since they generally quit selling them after the auction. Well worth the $35 price if that is what this one sells for. I'll announce when the catalogs become available.

I have paid by check. According to the terms:

"Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, money order, wire transfer, direct deposit, PayPal, Visa/MC, American Express and Discover. All payments by check or money order should be made payable to Daniel Frank Sedwick, LLC. Payments by PayPal should be made to [email protected]. All payments shall be in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. Please contact us for instructions for wire-transfer payments, for which bank charges may be necessarily added to the amount to be paid, generally depending on the country from which the wire originates."

to be fair i sent him a email and he said he would look into it so should be fine

hi stan
so got a question for you
is it better to bid the max estmation amout or do the online biding?
i have nver done a sedwick auction before

I like doing the live auction and I usually stay glued to the monitor thoughout the colonial coins, shipwreck and colonial artifacts, and books. I think its exciting and also helps me learn value.

What type are you looking at mostly? I know you like cobs and milled pillar coins.

As you have heard me say before probably, I recommend getting the hard copy catalog. Besides being a permanent reference source it is handy to keep at your side during the auction. After purchasing an item you will get the auction for at least the next auction for free.

Hey guys,

It was a good auction, coins went for alot more than estimated. I picked this one up for 175.00. I like the beafiness and it wasnt a bad deal. It shows the denominations and a nice cross and shield. Im happy!

I saw you buy that one. I just about hit the button since it wasn't getting bid up. Good score!

I bought two today......

I'll probably monitor the artifact section tomorrow and also bid on a book or two....

$3,000.00 was a good deal for the purchaser.

I am not going to complain.

Our silver specimens most that sold were real good deals for
the purchasers...

Of course I have better specimens but I have no wish to part with them.

I placed these coins - so as to check to see how well specimens from

our wreck would be received if they were properly documented.

Its good to leave something on the table for the next guy...

That is what auctions are all about. :icon_pirat:

does this answer your questions?

Sure Dom. I bid on a couple of them. That small showing will keep the water warm for when you find a larger cache later this season. What's the water temp and vis like on your site these days?
