Secret spot on the flint river.

The water gets clear and low this time of the year. Parts of the river are less than 1 foot deep, and what's normally lost in the depths is visible to any vessel. Myself and a buddy of mine were heading to our favorite creek when I noticed an unusual placement of limestone rocks and boulders. Checked it out on our way back downstream and these are a few pieces I found. I'm not sure what to make of any of it.

The area was littered with pottery, and the sandbar near by was covered. The weather was starting to turn and we weren't exactly in the best spot to be stranded. Can't wait to get back and carefully pick around as opposed to grabbing and paddling. Thanks for looking.

The only piece I see that might possibly be an artifact is the one in the 2nd and 3rd pictures. It could be a Flake Knife that has been polished by the water action. The rest all look like natural stones to me.

The first 2 pics are kilned clay not stone. So are the small round pieces.

I must be doing it wrong. There is nothing in these pictures that I would have even picked up off the ground.

#4 pick from theft to right Looks to be a flake knife but the rest are natural. Go back and look for more of that tan color maybe you will find a point.

Look like rocks to me!

I've been hunting the Flint River near Albany Georgia since the 1980s and I don't see any artifacts in your pictures. You are hunting in a good place so it is just a matter of time until you find a good one. The Flint is also a great place to find fossils. Good luck and be safe. That river has claimed a few lives in the past.

I grew up in Bainbridge. Spent a lot of time in Albany. Jimmey's hotdogs is my spot. Thanks for the input. There was def ancient activity at this place. I'll have time next to find concrete evidence.
