This is my 4th attempt to find this cellar hole. Still haven't actually seen the hole but I know I'm close. Ill have to get back after a frost or two. Last Sunday I went out with Hogge to one of his spots and found a 1853 3 cent and today I found a no date 3 cent. I'm pretty sure it's a variety 2 which is from 1854-1858. The broken spoon was marked with an M and a C in like an old English writing but after some over aggressive cleaning I messed it up. A nice tombac and pewter button with a big shank intact. Is there anyway to clean these pewter buttons? I always think I see designs on them but must just the the way the rot away. Thanks for looking
