Howdy all,

I've mostly done coin roll hunting until recently when my wife and I discovered garage/estate sales. I found these at an estate sale, among other weighted silver pieces. They wanted $20/pair but I walked out with these for $33. Not really great I know, but the wife was having fun and wanted to buy them. My question is, should I strip these? Both show dents and dings. Makers are empire and duchin. I'm new to this and really only care about silver content, so just want to be sure I'm not destroying something particularly collectible. Thanks everyone and happy hunting!

I may be wrong, but they would be scrap to me. But if you are gonna save the silver, it's probably easier to store them as is. I ripped some up not too long ago and now I have a box full of sharp stuff until My husband melts it to bars.

That is the most common shape for silver candlestick holders. roughly 10% of the total weight is silver. I strip all I can find. Even at $33 for all you did good.
