second Seminole war 1835-1842 pewter

These General service buttons are one piece pewter.
They are artifacts of the Second Seminole War but date prior to.
I suppose new uniforms weren't for everyone.
The backs are fully intact and not bent.. just didn't have a photo handy.

Well.. there are many sources of info on second Seminole war forts and the artifacts associated with them.
Many military button related sales sites have examples also.
I've put together info for years from site specific archaeological reports and historical documents as well as personally at my local historical society.
