Second Hand Store Find: Print with frame.

I paid $20.00 Probably too much. Here's a pic of the print but not the actual one in the gold leaf frame. Someone paid a nice price to have the 24 in by 30 in print to be professionally framed.

I have it hanging in my home office. Most of Martin Johnson Heade's oil paintings are in museums and worth millions.

Maybe next time I'll find an original.

You paid for the frame and depending on the size and condition, I think you did well. Even many small frames go well over $25.00 Some prints also have some value, so check it I am forever buying frames at yard sales and flea markets. Once I have a good frame I buy a canvas and paint a picture.

Many times the frames are worth more than the prints...and who knows what's hiding between the print and backing? Copy of the Declaration of Independence?
