Second Barber quarter with the AT PRO. Pic now included.
My brother Coinstriking and I went to a place we heard about from a guy in our detecting club. It is an island in the center of the river, the campgrounds we hunt are actually on this same river about 2 miles up. The sawmill that was on this river had there annual picnics on this island back in the day. The woods are kinda thick, but I found a spot that was kinda clear with a big tree in the middle. Right under this tree I got a really sweet sounding signal on the AT PRO. Called my brother over as we often do to compare signals, he got a high reading as well.
Now, I wish I had a pinpointer, I nicked it with my digger. But it turned out to be an 1898 Barber quarter.
I will put a photo up as soon as I can for those interested. I dont have a camera so my bro takes all the pictures.
3rd silver this year. 1909 Barber quarter, 1920 merc and then this 1898 barber quarter. First time I have ever broken into the 1800's with a silver in my detecting career.
