My second time searching this homesite. It burned down some time ago. I pulled up a 1941 Jefferson nickle, and 1940,41,44,& 51 wheat pennies. There is so much metal in the ground around the foundation that I can't get close because the detector starts going crazy. I guess it would be wise to dig everything since I am the only one hunting this place. I pulled up some old electrical outlets, a spoon, a marble, and some screw on bottle tops. :)

TB, I would hit that site hard and dig everything. With that many wheaties found, there must be more coins in0 the same or older date range. I would ALL-METAL hunt it and get all the junk out there so it won't be masking any coins, and then do a slow, methodical search of the area for coins. GOOD LUCK, and let us know how you make out. HH!

You definitely need a small 4"-5" coil for those trashy sites, might be worth the investment of $100 or so for a small coil if you hunt these types of sites often. With the wheat cents found, there should be a few silver coins there as well. HH and good luck, Mike
