I like to hunt parks,Schools, construction sites Pretty much anywhere i can and have permission to the thing is like at a city park with picnic tables baseball field where people drink beer eat and cook and it gets littered with the evil pull tabs and beer tops and when u make one swing your detector hits 4 are so targets so pretty trashy and really trashy areas what coil would u buy i am going threw whites to buy mine because i have a check for $100 for buying my machine new so i can get a Search Coil for $50 since the ones i am looking at are $150 so i need a recommendation on the Search Coils i am looking at what would overall be best for pretty trashy and really trashy areas Thanks marz..........

Edit Also witch one would ground balance and pinpoint well??? out of the 3

1# Eclipse 5.3 (6x6) Search Coil 801-3240-s.jpg

2# Eclipse Shooter "DD" (4x6) Search Coil 801-3239-s.jpg

3# Eclipse Deepscan DD 1400 Search Coil 801-3223-s.jpg

Number 3 is a maybe because its just goes a little deeper and helps with mineralization but i was thinking since it is a DD Search Coil would it be good for trashy areas??? and the price is $249.95 but i would get the $100 off so all i would pay is $150 if i get the one of the others i pay $50.

Howdy again Marz,
IF the area you wanted to search was free of almost all trash then the DD 1400 would be IT BUT since you've indicated the area is littered with trash the DD 1400 would be a waste of $250.00. One down!

I believe the round concentric coil has a cone shaped signal while the oval has a signal that emanates along the entire center line of the length of the coil so I will liken it to a knife cutting a straight line down through the soil. Swinging the coil as we do the signal is fairly wide but narrow. The 4 x 6 DD coil is usually what is recommended for a trash littered site. Another good way to find out about the coils is to call White's explain the site and ask them which coil. I will guess that they will say the 4 x 6 DD coil though both do a reasonable job in trashy areas................63bkpkr Be curious to know what they say.

thanks for the reply 63bkPkr I might end up buying two different coils so that u can have a coil for cleaner areas that will go deeper whean I hunt out in areas like pastures and stuff like that and the DD shooter for trashy areas.... if I decide to buy two coils is there anyone you can recommend that will scan and deeper and has better discrimination do you know if sunray electronics has a search coil for the m6???

Sorry marz, I've no input at all on your last question(s). I do enjoy using the 4 x6 DD and it is my 'go to' coil for the GMT, love it.

Yes after u explained how the 4 x6 DD shooter worked ts like trying to move a circle threw a tight space between too targets and with the DD its like a line threw a tight space i am going to order one there nothing more frustrating hitting a target and having another one right next to it and when i try to pinpoint it it dose not work well and i relay on the pinpointing because i don't have a pin pointer but i do really well with out it with the pinpointing and my eye sight thanks for all your help bro..

I own and use all the coils you show other than the 14". The 5.3 is pretty good in trashy areas, has fair coverage and pretty good depth. The 4X6 has limited coverage, and less depth, but is absolutely surgical in heavier trash. If you hunt heavy trash often and have the patience to swing slowly and hunt smaller areas well before moving on, the 4X6 is great. It also lets you get closer to fences, playground equipment etc. which is nice if you hunt tot lots and parks. The 5.3 does serve better as a general use coil much of the time so it just depends on where and how you detect. I find that I use the 5.3 or the 6X10Eclipse most of the time, but every now and then the 4X6 is the best one for conditions.
