Today I used my Tesoro Silver UMax for the first time. Most of what I found was junk but I did find a tag that said:
SEABORD
American Line Railroad
LOCAL
TO BE USED ONLY
ON SEABOARD AIR
LINE RAILROAD

The tag is 1 1/2" wide and 2 3/16" long. There are two slots, one at the top and the other at the bottom. I have searched the railroad but so far cannot find anything about this tag.

Seaboard Air Line Railway

Seaboard Air Line Railway was created in the 1880s by the consolidation of the Seaboard and Roanoke Railroad, which dated back to the earliest decades of American railroads, and other lines in the Carolinas into a single system. Eventually, over 100 lines would be incorporated into the SAL.

I'm guessing you know it's a baggage tag from that era... the other information to help everyone else help you figure it out...

This tag could have come from any time and most likely closer to the turn of the century era.

So far I have found that it is a baggage tag used up to around 1910 the same way paper is used today with one being on the luggage and one to the passenger. What is really unusual is there is no number on the tag. I am continuing to research it.
