Sea Hunter Mark II or Whites PI Pro

One is $600+ and has a proven track record-the other is $1600+ and has no track record but a lot of hype. I chose to save the grand.

I don't know the price of the new Whites PI Pro, but I know the Mark II is under $650.00 and the Whites should be near that price as that is what it was before the addition of a weighted coil that we've been wanting. I guess all our complaining about the floating coil got thru to someone.

My understanding from a reputable dealer is that the White's PI will retail in the $1600 range. Now what the actual sale price will be I don't know. Waiting to find out.

FYI,
Dickssportinggoods.com and sportsauthority.com both sell Garrett. The nice thing is, You can almost always find a 20% off coupon to these two companies on the internet. You can get the Garrett for close to $500

??? ??? ??? ??? :stop: Whites PI Pro cost is under $600.00 I don't know were you get $1600.00 ???

Yes the new one cost around $1600.00 but i thought they were talking about the old one thank you ...................I never get things right oh well that's life....I think i will have a cup of coffee get my head on straight........ :coffee2:

ok that's all well and good. I've narrowed the search down to the same two detectors and am leaning toward the Garrett. Has anyone done a head to head with these? I'm ready to spend money tomorrow and have it by the weekend whichever I chose.

I researched for 2 months before deciding on the Garrett Infinium LS.
I have used a Whites Surf Master II at least twice per week for the last 20 years and had no problems. I don't think you could go wrong with a Whites product or the Garrett.
Time, practice and patience will tell if I made the right decision on the Infinium. Scrooge

I never used any of them but on the Garrett you can take your headphones and coil off and put them back on yourself..................I think the Whites are hard wired on the detector and you would have to send it in to Whites to have a new coil or phones replaced.....for a price.............
