Minelab Explorer SE, Sunray X-1 Probe
Well this morning hung over from celebrating my wedding anniversary last evening I decided to take the Minelab Explorer SE out for day number 2.

I visited a local well watered park that I had previously found some wheats. Never had i found silver there, and I had already cleared most of the clad. I thought this would be a good place to start.

I am still learning the machine and am finding myself digging large holes, often not finding anything... Its frustrating, but i do appreciate the learning curve.

Needless to say later in the morning it was becoming more clear... I was pinpointing better, figuring out the depth gauge.. it was making sense..

I am definitely not used to the whole numbers system for the target ID.

Finally i got a solid repeatable signal that was in the coin range.. Wow was it deep.. almost 11 inches... I almost gave up on digging.. needless to say I buggered the coin out of digging frustration.. lol..

Anyways day 2 - First silver in a long while... Once i get this machine figured out I am sure there will be more..

I have to say I am very optimistic.. Thanks for looking...

oh yes the gold I almost forgot its almost nothing... but while digging a phantom signal i came up with this little piece of gold chain. I am sure there was something else in the hole.. i just didnt find it.. Maybe everyone is right about the sinray probe.. lol

Beauty! That SE is a deep seeker.

Dig it-Ken

Nice job, Trevor. Wow!! Only your second day too. I remember finding a rosie on my second day out with the SE also.
Yes, the Sunray probe will make your md'ing life much, much easier. I couldn't be without mine. If mine broke, I wouldn't detect until I had a replacement. It's like the necessities: food, water, shelter.......Explorer, X1 probe, patience... ;D

See, Some "Other Brand" users always doubt our depths that we recover items from.  I am glad that two brand new Explorer users that are still learning the machine are confirming the depths we get.

Congrats on the Silver from 11" deep.  I have only recovered one dime from that depth yet, it was about 10" down.

Trust me....With this machine a Sunray Probe is a must.  It gets down too deep not to have one.  You can be there for 15 minutes trying to recover a small silver coin from those depths without a probe.  The X-1 will lead you right to it in just seconds.  Not to mention, recovering a coin from that kinda depth without a probe will guarantee you a ton of "ricked" coins!

Oh yeah, BTW.....Hunt in Smartfind, the graph. I think this is a easier way to hunt and it is what every explorer owner I know hunts in.

Again, congrats on the SE. Get use to the deep digging, you're gona be doing a lot of it! HH and keep on finding that Silver and Gold

Stormtroppa: No maxing here...my brotha, Zoy, dug a B-arber dime at about 9" with the Pro XL. He said, "It gave a good reading, too."

White's can seek deep as well!

Good job, bud, on the 11 inch dime. That was deep.

Great find buddy. EVERYTHING you hear about the Sunray probe....is true...GET ONE ASAP! Like the others posted...you would wonder how you did without it.

Kirk....I am not saying it is impossible for the Whites to get that deep LOL.  I dug a clad quarter one time at about the same depth using my DFX.  But other then that one time, I have never found a coin deeper then 5" with my whites machine.  The soil here sucks and I am sure that has a lot to do with it.  Your results may very based on soil conditions of where you are hunting....as I have always stated!

My finds speak for themselves as to what machine works better for me here....

I have had the DFX for 5 months and found about 10 Wheaties, 1 Merc, and a bunch of clad.

I have had my SE for 4-5 months now and I have found 70+ wheats, 7 Indians, 18 Silver coins, 2 Buffalo (only dig that signal on Private Prop), 2 tokens, and a bunch of silver jewelry.  So for me, my DFX wasn't working for me in this area...That's a fact!
