Hi and thank you in advance for any help that I receive. I have this cool looking abstract sculpture. It?s modern do not vintage. It is on a wood base and is signed/carved into the wood base in Japanese and or Chinese. I am hoping someone can translate it and shed light on the artist. To me the sculpture almost reminds me of a warrior stance. But abstract form.

Now I'm no Linguist, but to me this writing doesn't appear to be either Chinese or Japanese. :icon_scratch:
It does appear to be similar to Chinese though.

Interesting, taking a quick glance, I see 2015年 (the year) Tony or Tong in English and what appears to be 谢鸽堂 xie ge tang which could be the person's name as 谢 is a last name and last names go first in Chinese. The last character (smaller than the other 3) looks to be 竹 as in bamboo but not sure. hope this helps.

However the 3 character could be 孛 bei/bo. or 索 suo

Thank you for translating the writing Yang Ho, I find the ancient form of Chinese script very interesting.

Thank you all for the help. I appreciate it very much. I believe it may be a Ju Ming as mentioned by another member. But still need to do more research. But y’all have given me some great leads.
