"Scratch and Dent" sale anyone? (MP5 question)

So, I keep seeing kellyco advertise a few detectors on their site in a "scratch and dent" or "damaged packaging" sale. Have any Tnet'rs bought one of these?

One of the reasons I'm asking is because one of the detectors being sold at a discount is the MP5. Does anyone here have any experience with this machine? Good? Bad? Heavy??(as one review stated) This is my first year detecting but I already want a second detector. I currently have an ACE 250. Is this a better machine?

Retail $549 Sale price $182

If you are going to move up stay away from something like the MP5 that would be a move down. If you want to move up stay with a Garrett or White or Minelab or Tesoro or Fisher........................... stay away from those odd ball detectors or you will be unhappy with them........when Spooky said you will not get much information here on that detector ....... the reason every one knowes what they are like and stays away from them........................

You won't get much info on the MP machines..

In my personal opinion, you would be better served with a White's Coinmaster or an Ace 250.

I'm still learning my ACE 250 but I'd also like a second machine to use every so often and I actually just read a promising thread reviewing the Coinmaster so I'm seriously considering it.

I'm already buying a 2nd machine partly so I can get my girlfriend or friends to maybe go out hunting with me sometime and also because I just want it

Thanks Spooky - WIT

I guess that would explain the lack of MP5 threads on Tnet... :)

I've found this place to be a wealth of information so far and it's probably a good thing to stay with the well known, tried and true brands (as you stated).

Thanks!

Ya, I saw that MD on Kellyco's clearance rack too and came to the same conclusion as the others.

An upgrade from any single frequency machine would be to a multiple freq.
But then you're talking about 2x or 3x the cost of your Ace250.

I've got a Fisher F2 and I'm looking a getting an F75 at some point.
