Sold them all.
It is always in the back of my mind. If I drive out to a sale and cant find anything of collector value to buy I try to see if I can "salvage" the pick by buying scrap.

Yep, already there! wire, brass, copper, aluminum and non-mag stainless.
lately that is all I can find. >:(

I'm with ya. I got 50 feet of new copper tubing for $3 a few weeks back and a 100 ft ext. cord to go with it for $2.

That is about what I am finding. I got about 50 feet of coax, it had copper wire inside. I bought new blades for my hack saw knowing I would have to cut the steel coax in a few places to pull the wire out. Got home and found out the coax was aluminum. :icon_thumleft: no waste there, I do not recycle scrap steel.

Dan, you and me both. I only do non-ferrous and even then I only do mostly copper and brass. I look for large extension cords cheap at every single sale I go to. Most people have no problem selling them for a few bucks.
Just last month I went on a pick and the guy had an entire garage/basement full of stuff. I left with a few copper pipes, a battery, and a computer. All scrap.

Could argue I should be posting this on the Scrap Forum, but most all the items I am bringing to the scrap yard were found at Garage Sales. I have been waited for prices to go up... finally. The garage was loaded and now my pickup is! If you're not collecting cheap scrap at sales you might want to think about it.

$1097
Most of that was the 581lbs of Brass. :) What a variety of "stuff"
The rest was copper, wire, aluminum and some stainless flatware.
I only look for brass, copper and wire also. The AL and stainless were just misc. stuff from the house or items that didn't sell.
I don't strip wire unless very large (ie.. jumper cables) , too much work for me, the wire was $1lb.
Still have another couple hundred lbs of #2 copper to bring down.

Keep your eye open for scrap.

This is what I use to strip a lot of my wire.
