i see a lot of them around them around the factories by my house. that got me thinking. if they just dump it there and get it picked up right there. how much do the scrap dealers charge for that? does anyone know? i was thinking if it was cheep that i might see if i can get a small one for all the iron i have at my house instead of ruining my car an wasting my gas.

anyone ever have one at their house

most scrap guys give the factory workers pennies for that stuff. if you talked to who is in charge and offer them a couple cents more they would use you .....i do it all the time . i got car dealerships that sell to me . boat yards , wire places , auto repair places . it doesnt hurt to ask. i look at it this way if you ask ten places and get 2 yes's ...thats good . i leave the house on the weekend with 100 in my pocket and sometimes change it into 300-400 in 2-3 hours ........i love scrap .....i love paying 3 dollors for big boat batterys that weight 120lbs. and makeing 25.00 for them ......alfonso

no fear on my end i had my accounts for years .......they love me just trying to help

I like the plasma cutters..but..
get an oxy-acetylene setup. It costs more in the long run but its portable, cuts everything, and requires no electric.

Happy New Year!

i read that oxy-acetylene only cuts iron and stainless ???

reccomended..yes. only? no ;)
It will cut almost any metal. .. just not very nicely on the softer stuff (aluminum)
Its not for a nice clean cut..just hacking apart metals into parts you can handle and haul away.

it wont cut it. it will melt it apart.
pick any size ya want :)
ok now that you got me interested

where would you buy the fuel and tanks?

you can get a basic setup with regulators, hose, torch etc.. for under $150
need to goto your local welding supply place to get the oxygen and acetylene cylinders.
just remember economics 101..if it costs more to cut it up and haul off...
