Found this button yesterday. I found info on Scovills & Co. but couldn't get a rough date on this one?

I don't have my button book infront of me, but by looking at the RMDC (Raised Mark Depressed Channel) I would say 1850's. but could be 1850-1865. I would need to see exactly how it is written as slight variations make a difference - but I believe it to be 1850s from first glance.

The only time-period when the company used the name "Scovills & Co." was from 1840 to 1850 -- which solidly dates your button with that backmark.
