Scoville MFG.- Police Button

Hi Folks,
Found this, what I believe is a cuff button at an old Methodist camp meeting ground (1860's-1910) still has gold gilt on it. Was wondering if anyone could put a date to it? As I don't know much about buttons, has Scoville MFG. Co. on back.
