Last weekend the new farmer told us about another 50 acre field which we could do. It looked good as it was only 1 field from the Villiage Church & the stubble had been flatten. Spent 4 hours exploring it & gridding likely spots with an OK result:

2 Hammered - 1 Threepence Lizy 1572 & a Halfpenny of Henry VII?
1668 1/2 Penny Token
1 Complete Crotal Bell
Decorated 18th C Thimble
1 Good Buckle

The only way I'd dig something with the dates that you find would be if I was dyslectic.
Let's see... 1572, 1275, 2157, 1752!
Nope, not even then.

Seriously, if you ever put all your finds in book form, I'd buy it, if only for reference material.
Cheers!

Nice finds,

Looks just like the stuff we find in our early colonial sites in the low country of South Carolina, minus the coins of course. We find plenty of King George coppers and the occasional Spanish silver but that's about it. Congrats on the finds looks like a fun site.

Good hunting on a big field! :hello2:

Thats a good start for this field! I like to see many more hammereds from it. :icon_thumleft:

So would I, but it's not as good a field as we hoped or as it looks from this post. I wandered over the 2 hammered in less than an hour, they were a long distance from each other, & everytime we gridded we got next to nothing. So the hammered were lucky strikes. We may come back but for now we will go back to the other field (which I thought was a 50 acre but is an 80!)

What it the thing with two "loops" below the thimbles ?

Nice hammereds Cru !!!! :headbang:

Nice hammereds, Buckle, and early Pipe bowl,
those are one of the few items we can find as old here as you do over there :occasion14:
