I was going through Craigslist last night looking for a used detector to buy.I have been looking for about a month now, with no luck, just a few bounty hunters for sale.well, last night I decided to look in the garage sale section.the third one I clicked said high end Tesoro metal detector. They forgot to put an opening time of the sale,so I arrived at the house of the sale at 7am. no signs of life yet,I figured they were still sleeping. At 10 after 7 ,I decided why not Ill knock on the door.A gentleman answered the door, and I told him I was interested in the detector as my Ace 250 was stolen from my truck. He said Ill open the garage. At this point ,im expecting to see an Amigo or compadre, but it was a DeLeon.I figured he was going to ask 350 or 400 for it. .He proceeded to turn it on,toss a quarter on the ground, handed me the detector, and I swung over it.it has no pinpoint button ,for a reason. It was right in the center of the coil. After that I was drooling..and asked the price. He said im asking 100 dollars.I had the bill out before he could finish his sentence! I am one happy camper. I give the man a great big thanks!

with the advent of tv detecting, sales are up.we all know where most of those machines will end up,and barely used.Yup I'm hittin yard sales this summer.gave my wife a list of detectors to keep an eye out for too...boom baby

The DeLeon is one of my favorites. Only negative in my opinion is that it's a preset ground balance which can be a problem in heavier mineralization. In the mild soil I usually detect, it gets good depth, the TID is pretty accurate and it's light enough to swing all day without pain.

Took the deleon out this afternoon.I can truly say I can leave the pinpointer at home. Its is not too much unlike the ace at identifying junk, but does it more accurately. If it says its a quarter its a quarter.Only thing is some pennies id a dime.Thats ok though, its money..:) I can say I can actually get the battery covers off without a fight, which is a change for me. I was out about 4 hours and only 1 notch gone on battery life. i found about 3.00 in clad, but I was digging all at a real trashy park.Everything was pretty shallow.Gonna hit the woods today and see what happens. My Ace is still a good machine, but for some reason this one gave me a little more confidence. I didnt dig ant 'ghost ' targets with it either.
