This appears to be a pair of scissors, the only thing that makes me wonder is I don't see a hole where a rivet or bolt went through. Any other ideas, or am I correct on this one? Each half is one piece and is round stock at the finger hole and gradually flatten to the blades. Found in a field that was a known encampment during the Union occupation around Gallatin TN. I'm not saying they are from that time period as I have no idea, but I'd love to know. Thanks for any suggestions for a positive id.

After blowing some air across the flatter piece, a rivet hole appeared as expected.

Could be parts of a wick trimmer. The older ones from that era looked very similar..image.jpegimage.jpeg

I doubt if they are scissors. The holes too big to be a part of an old gate hinge. You have me curious now.

Doing a search led me to medic scissors, with the shape/style of them. Maybe they are? Would be cool if used in a war for such purpose...
