Was hot this weekend and only did a little digging for relics in my trash pit site. I ended up checking out a spot at a old school. I am not really a coin hunter anymore, although at one time it was my thing. I therefore rarely post my coin finds. I had found an ariel view of the school that was taken in the 1950s and saw some signs of a ball diamond where there are none today, so I decided to try it out since it was an inconspicuous place, one that looks as if it may have been overlooked by others over the years. I found hardly no clad and some wheats but nothing special. But the silver was abundant. The bracelet is sterling, marked taxco. I still would rather be digging bottles, buttons and old marbles....but I will take these:laughing7:

Old school's seem to always produce positive results! Congratualtions! :occasion14:

That's Awesome VN! I have to dig for 3-4 years to find that many old silver coins, and NEVER anything bigger than a dime. A lot of competition here, but congrats on a sweet silver score. Sub 8-)

That hunt just shows you haven't lost your touch for the old coins!! Great finds.............:headbang:

I am sure the school had been hunted hard over the decades. The last time I searched here I found a Barber dime, but that was closer to the school building itself. That was probably 15 years ago. I should go to school more often. There could be more there where these coins were found, I was working the shaded areas only.

Congrats on the silvers VN. :occasion14: I'm glad coin shooting is no longer your cup of tea. May you find all the marbles, buttons and bottles you care to dig.

I figure I will leave more for the rest of you'all. To me there is nothing better than digging up that personal artifact that I can research and feel the story it tells as my imagination takes over. I would probably like it better if I was digging Draped Busts and King Georges like all of the New Englanders who do a pretty good job of raking them in up there. I do still like digging Indians though when I am detecting, but not as often as I like.

Nice bunch of silver! Congrats#
