SC STATE PARKS

My wife and I will be vacationing in Murells Inlet SC for 2 weeks starting October 4th . I would like to know if there are permits required to metal detect on the beach at Huntington State Park and in other State , County and Town parks in the area .

Hunting state park requires permits, but just go to the rangers in the visitor center and ask for one and they’ll give it to you. The lighthouse area is off limits, but all other areas are open.

As for other parks in SC most are okay to hunt in as long as they’re not Historic. They’re used to be a list online of SC park you cannot detect in.
