We spent 4.5 hours finishing the last corner of the field. It was the most trashy area as it was the landing spot of all the blown up fireworks which display every year in the next field over. Lots & lots of digging & I'm pretty wrecked for a change, glad the heavy clay was still wet from the recent rain.
It was the exact end I predicted to Dad, which was a '1 hammered day' with nothing else of note. (ie. Silvers) I've lost count but we have continued a very good silver streak, with this being our 5th (I think?) in a row!
9 scrappies
4 Lead Tokens
17th C token
Royal Farthing of James I - this is England's first hammered copper coinage series & they very rarely come out of our soil as nice!
Hammered - Henry VIII Halfgroat - scarce find but this is now my 2nd this month - although as per norm they are very poor quality & debased.
Early Lead Bag Seal with date - 179? - rare to get a date, can't ID it yet....
Unusual shaped Cuff Link - first for me
Nice 18th C Buckle
So a very pleasing end to the field, but now we have no good options left until Harvest...
