I'm new to the board and so late in responding, but I was there too. Two days later I ran into he and his wife in downdown old Melbourne. Interesting man. He said that he sometimes talks at the museum below the inlet.

I know Bob well and he usually tells me ahead of time when he'll be doing a talk, I didn't think to post it last time but I will in the future.

To give you an idea what kind of guy he is, several years ago when I didn't really know him that well, my daughter asked him if he could come talk to her 3rd grade class about pirates.

There were only about 16 kids in the class and he gave a great talk for over an hour, passing around some coins and artifacts for the kids to handle, inspiring many young treasure hunters (including myself) for sure.

When he finished, I was walking out with him and he mentioned he had to hurry home to pack because he was leaving later that day to go to Chicago to lecture to SEVERAL THOUSAND people at an international underwater convention.

If you ever get a chance to hear him DO NOT miss it!

I've known and have dove with Bob for the last 15 or so years. He is a great speaker and person, when you can get past his "outer shell". Those of you that really "know him" can relate I'm sure. His wife Jennifer is a fabulous person in her own right and can give a talk no less than he.

Looking forward to seeing him again in the very near future. I'm trying to convience him that he owes me a dinner. :icon_thumleft:
