The soldiers in my platoon conducted the morning Physical Training at an abandoned pistol range on post. They were doing sprints and hill climbs on the side berms, which are very steep, about 50 degrees.
Two off them got home and noticed something missing, THEIR WEDDING RINGS.
The poor soldiers went pack to the site and did the eyeball detecting thing for a couple hours, with no luck. I guess someone told them that I MD. So they asked me to meet them there after work to help them, they were a sad bunch. There were many stories of residing on the couch for awhile.
I met them at the range and started at the top of the berm which has a distance of about 40 feet top to bottom. I had to be real careful because of my recent ankle injury.
After no luck in the first 10 minutes, the sad soldiers did not think that I would be able to find the rings. I got to hear all the worst cases scenarios for them.
First ring came in at 15 minutes half way down the hill, still have another sad face.
This guy had platinum ring with a diamond. Second ring comes in 25 minutes into the search.
Seeing the relief and joy...................priceless
