This would have been pretty much a skunking if it weren't for a nice 1/2 inch round ball and a coiled strip of lead very close to it. The woods are still diggable and it's just great to be outdoors hunting!
I happened upon a telephone pole graveyard in my travels. :laughing7:
At the bottom of a very steep slope I found several parts of a bicycle that must have come to grief at the bottom of it...
Lots of shot shells but some better and older ones on this hunt.

My apologies... I forgot to mention the 4 Ox Shoes at the base of the hill in the ravine. It's amazing how such huge animals were able to negotiate slopes that even I was having trouble walking on!

Thanks for Looking!
Nick

Woods hunts are fun! I hope that pin didn’t “get you”. nIce round ball and funny title.

Nice finds.

Good hunting! My first thought with the telephone poles is that you should scout around for insulators. I might have spotted one in your pic. Or it could be a soda can. I found over 100 insulators in a pile just off the road a few years ago. One was sticking out of the leaves and the rest were buried.

Thanks, Underwonder! Amazingly enough it emerged from the hole without "getting" me. :laughing7:

Thank you dts. I was following what appeared to be an uphill portion of a trail originating at a ford in the stream. I failed to post 4 ox shoes that I found at the base of the hill.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!
Thanks Digger RJ!

Good looking woods. I like that strip of lead. Good finds!
Thanks, Florida Finder. It looks to be purposely coiled for some later use that never happened.

Probably a soda can... There is more than one spot where these poles were stored or disposed of on this property, Gene Mean. I have poked around here quite a bit and have yet to find any insulators. I will continue to search diligently though!
