The other day when I was hunting the button field and found the 1802 drapped bust large cent, in the same hole there were several pieces of what appeared to be an ornate buckle. I put all the pieces I could find in a film cannister and decided I would look at it later. It took a little bit, but I got it back together, (almost). It always pays to save all the little pieces, you can never tell what they might look like when you put them together...Lance

Nice work, Lance! I have tried to do the same thing, but haven't found enough of the pieces to bring a good end result!

Great advice! Nice pics... Thanks for sharing with us!

Good stuff, Lance.

One thing too is to sift the dirt in the place where you find a nice ring missing its setting.

This procedure of yours is absolutely essential when hunting farm land where a cache has been spread all over via plowing.

Way to go. Thats what I call putting it all together..........

Lance, really great advice. You would be great on that CSI show !

Good idea. I have the back plate off a rather expensive Benrus watch but never found the rest. I keep wondering how someone could lose just the back off their watch? What a dilbert. Monty
